Hannah

Hannah was rescued from a well-known Slaughter auction house in Kaufman Texas. I will never for the life of me, as long as I live, understand what circumstances happen in someone’s life, that make it easier to abandon a family horse to a slaughterhouse then try to sell or place the animal into a good home. I am always blown away by the quality of horses that get dumped and easily forgotten in horrific places like this. I often say to myself, “If only I had 1000 acres on a hill with pasture, they would be filled with these magnificent animals that no one wanted.” Hannah was one of the lucky ones and she is loved beyond measure here at Reigning Grace Ranch. Her blue eyes, white coat and dripping sweet personality, make you wonder if she was an angel dropped from the heavens. I do believe animals cross our paths to teach us about how to love unconditionally, the beauty of life, the flaws of man and the incredible will to live. As you can imagine, Hannah is popular among our children at the ranch, particularly the girls. Hannah’s striking beauty and docile personality make her popular around the ranch as well as her old soul that encompasses the body of a horse that make her easy to be around. I can’t imagine what she has seen, the story she could really tell if she could speak. The love and the horrors, but Hannah chooses to live for today and she lives it to her fullest, loving on the hurt and broken. I suppose it may be because she understands what it feels like to once be loved and abandoned and loved again. Hannah’s story brings hope to so many people who need a silver lining.
