Genesis
The name says it all. Genesis was the first foal born at Reigning Grace Ranch. New beginnings. His mother, Sugar, was one of the feral range horses that were saved and began it all for Christopher and Amanda Moore. Genesis was born on a very cold night in February 2011 about 9:30pm. The night he was born, Sugar was restless and pacing the isle way of the barn. We just knew the time was coming for a foal to be born. We were not exactly sure how much participation Sugar would allow from us because she was in fact a feral horse. But when the time came, she allowed us to help pull the foal out when she struggled a bit. She allowed us to wrap Genesis in warm blankets to keep him warm on that cold night. We watched as he stood for the very first time and took his first steps to nurse. It was love at first site. Genesis and his brother, Rufio, are staples at Reigning Grace Ranch; They make up part of the original herd that started the non-profit. Genesis is playful and a prankster. He is full of life and himself at times. He is just a pure delight to anyone who gets to meet him.
