BRIGHT ANGEL
Bright Angel and Kaibab came to live at Reigning Grace Ranch about 10 years ago when their previous owner read about the Ranch in a news article. It was an answer to prayer because he had terminal cancer and was devastated over the thought that he couldn’t keep these girls together as planned for the rest of their lives. He raised the girls from foals. The two are half-sisters, their mothers were sisters – Gypsy Vanners, and they share the same father who was a Spotted Draft Horse. Kaibab is just one day older than her half-sister Bright Angel and they have never been apart from each other since. When we received a phone call one day from Utah and a man with a trembling voice was on the other end. After he explained his situation through his tears, we couldn’t help but be moved to grant him his wishes for these two sisters he loved so dear. The girls, named after trails at the Grand Canyon, are now about 15 years of age and are of the most popular and iconic horses at Reigning Grace Ranch. Their sheer beauty and power make them unforgettable.
