Horsemanship and Riding Program for Kids
October – June
At Reigning Grace Ranch, our Horsemanship and Riding Program offers a transformative equine experience for children ages 6 years and up. This program is designed to nurture the skills and understanding necessary to build a meaningful, harmonious connection with horses. By learning to work with a horse’s natural instincts, children develop confidence, empathy, and respect, which are key to creating a positive and safe horse riding experience.
In this program, kids will explore the basics of horse care, or horse husbandry, learn to safely interact with and guide horses through groundwork, and experience the essentials of Western riding lessons for kids. We focus on horsemanship lessons that prioritize a relaxed, enjoyable riding style, perfect for young riders looking to grow their skills in a supportive environment.
Whether your child is completely new to horses or has prior experience, our program provides a strong foundation in horsemanship classes that will benefit them in any riding discipline. More than just riding lessons, this program fosters a lasting bond between children and these majestic animals.
Adaptive Riding Program
October – June
Our Adaptive Riding Program at Reigning Grace Ranch is specifically designed for students ages 6 and up who have special needs. These recreational horse riding lessons offer a welcoming and adaptive environment where each child’s unique abilities and learning styles are embraced. We cater to all skill levels, from first-time riders to those with advanced experience. To ensure a safe and engaging experience, participants may receive assistance from horse leaders or side walkers, depending on their needs.
In addition to building riding skills, the adaptive riding program provides remarkable therapeutic benefits. Research shows that adaptive riding can enhance physical strength, balance, coordination, mobility, muscle tone, self-confidence, peer interaction, and social skills.
Our lessons are led by Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) certified instructors, who tailor each class to the student’s physical, emotional, and mental strengths.
Lessons include arena riding, trail rides, and group activities, with instructors creating fun games and exercises to promote learning and growth. Our team stays current with yearly continuing education and CPR certifications, ensuring each rider’s experience is both enjoyable and safe.
